Today is Vox's first anniversary since the official launch. What's the best experience you've had on Vox in the past year?
There's not one particular experience that I would call best. It's more the overall warmth of the people I've had the pleasure and the privilege to call my neighbors. Plus, the fun / cool part about it all is the fact that we became neighbors simply because of a comment left here or a comment left there.
That little comment, it's the simplest little gesture, but it makes all the difference...
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY...UM, VOXIVERSARY!
Edit: Almost forgot. I also enjoyed having my banner design chosen as one of the 50 winners last year. :-)
What will you remember most about this summer?
The Farmer's Market in our little town is one of the best in our county and we just moved here in June! I love the peaches, tomatoes and BERRIES! I bought a pack of blackberries, raspberries and strawberries and made berry shakes. It's hot here, so these tasted like a dream.
What song best describes your current mood? Submitted by Section31.
Ever since I found out we have to find a new house and move, this song has been running through my mind. Well, actually, only that one part of the chorus:
" I don't know where my soul is, I don't know where my home is..."
The rest of the lyrics don't really apply nor does the real meaning of the song. Just that one line. I don't like Nelly Furtado too much, but the song is stuck in my head. There ya have it.
What did you think you would never ever do... but did? I never thought I'd live in a gated community, but now I do. I've lived in just about every type of home a person could inhabit. I've lived in the country, on 80 acres of land. I've lived in apartments. I've lived in a basement. I never would have chosen a house behind gates, but it just happened. It was available and I had to move and so it goes. But now...
I was given a notice, last month, that they are selling the house. I either have to buy it or find another house and move. I hate moving. I really do. I hate it because I have too much shit. I hate it because it is hard and I always have to ask people to help me. I hate it because it is such a big decision to make and I'm so alone in my decisions (the down side of being a single parent). I've been procrastinating over this whole thing. It's eating at me constantly. I've never been quite so frozen over anything as I am with this situation. Yeah, well, fuck.
If you could only save one thing in a house fire (thing, not person), what would it be and why?

Why? It's obvious. It contains everything. All my photos, phone numbers and addresses, my music, my life is on this little white mac.
What was the last game you played?
Animal Crossing Wild World on the Nintendo DS. I'm seriously addicted to the game. I started playing it when Sam first got it for his birthday. That was February or March. Then when Roz got her own in October, I made a character on her game. I loved it so much, I bought my own used copy at EB Games. It was a hacked game, so it had all the cool Nintendo / Mario stuff and it had the biggest house. I play it almost every day, if I can. I don't have my own DS, which is a bummer, but Sam lets me use his a lot. I was using Brandon's for awhile, but I felt bad. I think he wanted it back but was afraid to ask me.
I spend countless hours gardening my lovely hybrid flowers, fishing, picking fruit, finding fossils or squelchoids, gyroids, shooting down balloons, visiting neighbors and bringing them medicine, writing letters, shopping at Nookington's...so yeah, you get the picture. Crazy Fun!

Google Homepage
because it has everything I love; rss feeds from digg, del.icio.us, deviantart, Mac360, the latest news from MacWorld, Apple and others plus all the basics like weather, sticky notes, bookmarks, gmail inbox, mini month calendar, movies, and that cute little time-waster...
It used to be uncool to be a nerd. Now it is completely opposite and it is the coolest thing to look like a nerd and to act like a nerd. A computer in every home has had the greatest influence on creating the nerd invasion. So, if you like computers, are you a nerd? If you like to work on computers, are you a nerd? If you play video games on a regular basis, are you a nerd? Maybe so, maybe not. I love to work on computers, but that in itself is not what makes me nerdy. One day at work someone asked me a question about how to do something on their computer and I went into great detail. As I was talking, I realized the person had completely lost interest and was not listening to me. It suddenly dawned on me that I was talking about things that they didn't understand and really didn't care about. At that moment, I felt like a nerd.
These are my favorite places:
