We Found a House!
Well, for us, it was worth the waiting a hundred times over. We have the most amazing house. We looked at so many. I calculated it out, sort of, and I'd say there were probably about fifty houses. Out of those fifty, we drove by about thirty-five or forty and we actually went inside about fifteen. These calculations are based on the addresses entered in Google Maps (the addresses still come up when I enter a number) and on my memory, since I did not use map search for every house. We spent many hours just driving around desirable neighborhoods and sometimes we would see a "for rent" sign. I also looked on lots of different websites; local property management sites, The Tribune's online classifieds, and craigslist and they would sometimes have directions.
We found this house on craigslist. It is brand new. I mean new as in "no one has EVER lived in it" or as in "the carpeting isn't in yet, but it will be a tan color" new. Yeah, like that new! It's exciting and we are happy. We have so much to do. Lots of unpacking still (I'm kind of a book hoarder).
